Louis Polish, MD

Dr. Polish received his B.A. from Lehigh University and his M.D. from the University of Vermont College of Medicine. He was a house officer in internal medicine at the University of Colorado Health Science Center and completed a pulmonary fellowship at Boston University School of Medicine and then an infectious diseases fellowship at the University of Colorado. He joined the Hepatitis Branch of the Center for Disease control as an EIS officer and stayed on as a Medical Epidemiologist in the same branch. He left the CDC in 1994 for a faculty position in the Infectious Diseases Division at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Dr. Polish joined the faculty in the Infectious Diseases Division at Washington University School of Medicine in 1998. He moved to the University of Vermont College of Medicine in 2003 where he is now Associate Professor of Medicine and Director of Hospital Epidemiology in the Infectious Diseases Division.
