Anucha Apisarnthanarak, M.D. Adjunct Professor of Medicine Office Location : Thammasat University Hospital Dr. Apisarnthanarak joined the Infectious Disease Division as an Adjunct Professor in 2008. He received his medical degree from Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand. He pursued his internal medicine residency training at George Washington University and his infectious diseases fellowship at Washington University. After completing his training in the United States, Dr. Apisarnthanarak is currently an infectious disease specialist and hospital epidemiologist at Thammasat University Hospital, Thailand. He is an active member of many Thai national societies including the National Antimicrobial Resistant Surveillance System of Thailand (NARST), and Infectious Diseases Association of Thailand. He also serves as scientific committee chair person for the Thai National Nosocomial Infection Control Group. Research InterestsDr. Apisarnthanarak's major research focus is in preventing and controlling nosocomial infections, antimicrobial stewardship and epidemiology of drug resistance microorganisms with a secondary focus on investigating outbreaks and emerging infectious diseases (e.g. avian influenza).
