Jessica R. Grubb, MD Instructor in Medicine Patients Seen: Storz Building Dr. Grubb joined the Infectious Diseases Division in 2005. She received her B.A. from The Johns Hopkins University and her M.D. from the University of Maryland. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine in 2000. She completed her Infectious Diseases fellowship at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland. Research Interests My primary research interest is the investigation of HIV-related metabolic complications. I am studying complications related to antiretroviral therapies including dyslipidemia, obesity, and endothelial dysfunction. Currently I am investigating changes in lipid composition in T lymphocytes to investigate how these differences are affected by dyslipidemia, antiretroviral therapy and obesity. I am also involved in other HIV-related studies at the Washington University Aids Clinical Trials Unit including treatment options for patients naïve to antiretroviral therapy. My primary long term goal is to investigate ways to reduce toxicities from antiretroviral therapy given the paradigm of prolonged therapy as well as improving access to care, especially among women infected with HIV.
